If you're looking for a budget-friendly hotel in Nerja with a great location and solid amenities, Hotel Nerja Club & Spa is definitely worth considering. This three-star hotel offers comfortable accommodation at an affordable price, making it a great option for travelers who want to explore this charming coastal town without breaking the bank.

Location: Convenience at Its Best
One of the standout features of Hotel Nerja Club & Spa is its location. Situated right next to Mercadona, one of Spain’s well-known supermarket chains, it provides easy access to daily essentials and snacks. Carrefour Market is also nearby, making grocery shopping a breeze.
For those eager to hit the beach, Burriana Beach is just a short walk away—about 10 minutes downhill. Of course, the return trip is slightly more challenging as it’s uphill, but it’s a great way to burn off some of those delicious tapas, paella, or seafood dishes you’ll enjoy at the beachside restaurants. If you'd rather skip the climb, taxis and buses are available.
Another advantage is that walking to Nerja’s Old Town is quite easy, as the route is mostly flat. This makes it convenient for exploring the town’s charming streets, local shops, and restaurants without much effort.
Affordability: Unbeatable Prices
For budget-conscious travelers, this hotel is a fantastic find. During the off-season (January-February–Early March), you can get a room for as low as €55 per night, including breakfast. That’s an amazing deal for a stay in Nerja, especially when you consider the hotel’s amenities.
Even in winter, the weather can be surprisingly pleasant. With day temperatures around 17-18°C, sunny skies, and no wind, it’s still a great time to enjoy the area. The hotel’s outdoor pool was bustling with guests enjoying the sunshine, showing that even during the cooler months, it’s a great place to stay.

The Pool Area: A Highlight
One of the best features of Hotel Nerja Club & Spa is its spacious pool area, which offers stunning views towards Burriana Beach and the sea. It’s a relaxing space to unwind, soak up the sun, or take a refreshing dip.
One important note—bring your own towels. The hotel does not provide pool towels, which can be a minor inconvenience for those traveling light. And if you didn't bring your own towels, visit the nearby China Home and the problem will be solved, again without breaking the bank.

On-Site Dining & Entertainment
Recently, the hotel's bar and restaurant were renovated and transformed into a sports bar. The result? A fantastic atmosphere with plenty of screens for watching your favorite sports, stylish decor, and a welcoming vibe.
Another great perk is that the poolside bar remains open year-round, something that’s not always the case in Nerja. Many hotels keep their pools open but close the bars, leaving guests without an easy way to grab a drink or snack while lounging. Hotel Nerja Club & Spa ensures you have this option available, even in winter because the Sports Bar also serves those who are enjoying the day at the pool.

Rooms: Simple but Comfortable
The rooms at Hotel Nerja Club & Spa are on the smaller side, but they’re comfortable and functional. If you book a pool-facing room, you’ll enjoy all-day sun on your balcony—perfect for a winter stay when you want to soak in as much warmth as possible.
That said, during summer, these rooms can get quite hot, so keep that in mind when booking. Yes, there's an aircon in every room but personally I’m not a huge fan of those. If you prefer more space, larger rooms are available, but naturally, they come at a higher price.

The Spa & Gym
As the name suggests, the hotel also has a spa, which includes a hot tub, massage services, and other wellness treatments. Some room bookings include free access to the spa, so it’s worth checking when you book.
Additionally, there’s a small gym, which is a nice touch for those who like to keep active. While it’s nothing extravagant, it does have a treadmill, cross-trainer, and some basic equipment, making it convenient for a quick workout. Of course, with Nerja’s beautiful scenery, you might prefer an outdoor walk or run instead.

Breakfast: Hits and Misses
Breakfast at Hotel Nerja Club & Spa is decent but nothing extraordinary. Compared to similar three-star hotels, it falls somewhere in the middle. There’s a bit of everything, but during off-season months, the selection can feel somewhat limited.
One major downside? The coffee. Unfortunately, it was quite bad, to the point where some guests brought their own instant coffee. Yes, true story. A small issue, but something worth noting for coffee lovers like me!

Final Thoughts: A Solid Budget Option
If you go into your stay at Hotel Nerja Club & Spa with the right expectations, you’ll likely have a great experience. It’s a budget-friendly, well-located hotel that provides excellent value for the price.
Pros:
Great location next to Mercadona and Carrefour Market
Short walk to Burriana Beach (though uphill on the way back!)
Affordable pricing, especially during the off-season
Spacious pool area with stunning views
Sports bar and year-round poolside service
Spa and gym for added convenience
Cons:
No pool towels provided
Rooms can be small (but you get what you pay for)
Breakfast is average, and the coffee is a letdown
Final rating: 8/10
If you’re looking for a luxury resort, this isn’t it. But if you want a clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly stay in Nerja, Hotel Nerja Club & Spa is an excellent choice.
